Morten Harket er kjent som a-ha`s frontfigur og lead vokalist.

Før etablering av bandet a-ha i 1982 var Morten Harket vokalist i Oslo bluesbandet Souldier Blue. Harket er blitt inspirert av store artister som Uriah Heep, Queen, Johnny Cash, David Bowie og Peter Gabriel.

Min personlige mening er at den artist som synes å ha størst inflytelse er David Bowie.

Morten Harket har utviklet en fantastisk vokal og har klart å definere sin egen "sound" som også kjennetegner a-ha. Nettopp hva som kjennetegner en stor og unik artist.

Morten Harket is most famous for his lead to be the lead singer and position at the famous Norwegian band, a-ha.

Before Harket join Magne (Mags) Furuholmen and Pål/Paal Waaktaar-Savoy to establish the band a-ha, he was the lead singer at a blues-band, Souldier Blue from Oslo, Norway. Harket have been musical influences from great artists like Uriah Heep, Queen, Johnny Cash, David Bowie and Peter Gabriel.

My own opinion is that I feel David Bowie have been the artist that have give him the most influence.

Morten Harket have developed his fantastic vocal to be his "own" and unique sound that also is the characteristic "a-ha sound". This is exactly what`s identifier a great and unique singer and artist.

I 1994 valgte a-ha og ta en pause og Harket kunne derfor videreutvikle og eksperimentere med sitt kreative musikktalent. I 1993 lanserte han sitt første solo-album, "Poetenes Evangelium"

In 1994 the band a-ha agreed to have a break. Harket could therefore focus more on his own creativity as a artist and develop new areas. In 1993 he launch his first solo-album, "Poetenes Evangelium".

Albumet inneholder 12 låter som er basert på poesi fra anerkjente norske forfatter som Jens Bjørneboe, Inger Hagerup, Erik Fosnes Hansen, Kaj Skagen, Georg Johannesen, Arnhold Eidslott og Håvard Rem.

This album who include 12 songs is all based on poetry from famous Norwegian writters like Jens Bjørneboe, Inger Hagerup, Erik Fosnes Hansen, Kaj Skagen, George Johannesen, Arnhold Eidslott og Håvard Rem.

"Wild Seed"

Publish: 1995

Harket`s neste soloalbum ble så utgitt i 1995 og hans første soloalbum med engelske tekster. Albumet ble en stor suksess og et gjennombrudd for hans solokarriere der han blant annet mottok hele 4 spellemannspriser samme år.

På albumet finner vi sterke låter som bl.a. "A Kind Of Christmas Card",  "Spanish Steps" og "Wild Seed".

Harket`s next solo-album was publish in 1995, and his first solo-album in english. The album become a great success in Norway and also a kind of a "breakthrough" for his solocareer. For this album and singles, he was honour with 4 awards at the most importent music awards in Norway, Spellemannsprisen.

On this album you will find very nice songs like "A Kind Of Christmas Card", "Spanish Steps" and "Wild Seed"

"Vogts Villa"

Publish: 1996

Harket er svært glad i Kristiansand og Sørlandet og oppholder seg ofte her om sommeren.

I Kristiansand skjærgård finner man på den ubebodde øya, Bragdøya, Vogts Villa. Etter at Harket hadde opphold seg i denne villa i en perioden, ble han inspirert til å skape dette albumet. Albumet er et slags musikkeksperiment og veldig anderledes enn hans tidligere utgivelser.

Et spennede album som må tolkes ut i fra det eksperimentelle utgangspunkt.

Harket like to use the south part of Norway, Kristiansand, Sørlandet, close to the osean and and with one of the pritties skerries in the world, like his place for recreation. In the summer you sometimes will meet him with his boat, driving around and just enjoy the fantastic atmosphere. In this area, at a uninhabited island, Bragdøya, you will find the house, Vogts Villa. After his stay at this house for some days, he was inspired to creat this album.

The album is a kind of a music experiment, total different from other works he have done.

I tillegg til sine soloutgivelser har Harket deltatt både som skuespiller i den norske filmen "Kamilla og Tyven" i 1989 der han også har laget tittellåta i filmen, utgitt låta "Can`t Take My Eyes Off You" i filmen "Coneheads" i 1993 og utgitt låta "A Jester In Our Town" i filmen "Sofies Verden" basert på en av norges største internasjonale boksuksesser med samme tittel av den norske forfatter Jostein Gaarder.

Morten Harket have also appears as a actor in the Norwegian movie "Kamilla And The Thief" in 1989 where he also sing the soundtrack with the same name at this movie. He also sing the song "Can`t Take My Eyes Off You" for the movie "Coneheads" in 1993, and also the song "A Jester In Our Town" for the movie "Sophie`s World" who is based on the most successful international book with the same name by the Norwegian writer, Jostein Gaarder.

Harket ble invitert til å opptre under Nobel Fredspris konserten 11 desember 2007 der han presenterte låtene "Movies" og "Letters From Egypt", to sterke låter – terningskast 6!!

Harket was invited to the famous Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway 11th of December 2007 where he sing the fantastic new song "Movies" and another great song "Letters From Egypt".

Big expection for Morten Harkets new album! 

Etter å ha blitt overveldende imponert singelen "Movies" som ble sluppet på slutten av fjoråret og etter å ha lyttet til "smakebitene" fra det nye albumet på låtene "Darkspace", "Send Me An Angel", "We`ll Never Speak Again", "With You With Me" og "A Name Is A Name", så er jeg fullstendig overbevist!

After my overwhelming impressive experience of the new single "Movies" who was launch in Norway at the end of last year, and after to have listen to the samples of the songs "Darkspace", "Send Me An Angle", "We`ll Never Speak Again", "With You With Me" and "A Name Is A Name" from the new album, I`m convinced!

Morten Harket utvilsomt hatt godt av sin "pause" og eksperimentale periode.

Morten Harket`s "14 years break" from his album "Wild Seed" have undoubtedly give him new and strong inspiration. He`s better,  more balanced and stronger than ever.

 En rolig låt som viderefører låta "We`ll Never Speak Again" og bare roer deg ytterligere ned.

A quiet song that continue the song "We`ll Never Speak Again" and just calm you down even more.

"A Name Is A Name"

Nok en rolig og herlig låt. Harket har utvilsomt funnet "roen" i sjelen og skaper de ene avbalanserte låta etter den andre. Nyt låta og lytt på teksten.

Another quiet and lovely song. Harket have undoubtedly found his peace of mind and create all this balanced songs. Enjoy the song and listen to the words.

At singelen "Movies" og nå albumet "Letter To Egypt" vil bety et sterkt comeback også internasjonalt for Morten Harket er jeg ikke i tvil om.

I`m 100% sure…..with this new strong singel and strong album….Morten Harket will have his comeback International breakthough success…..Just wait an see! :-)
